The Good And The Bad of Social Media

There are always two sides to every story, right?

This rings true when it comes to social media.

Let's think about the pros, here.

Social networks helps out businesses in a variety of ways. Radio, TV commercials and print ads have found themselves completely obsolete and demand for thousands of dollars. Yet, with social media, the businesses can connect with their targeted customers for free, only having to worry about energy and time.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social networks have become so popular that it's become the best way for bloggers, article writers, etc. to communicate. As mentioned in this article on LinkedIn, these social networking sites have opened the opportunity for all the writers and bloggers to connect with their clients to share their expertise and articles. This will lead to their audiences sharing articles, blog or expertise in their social circle which further enhance your networks of the followers.

Social media has helped make it easier for people to give their opinion or thoughts over a variety of topics by removing all communication barriers. Speaking your mind through the internet is much easier than in person, right?

Now, for a few cons.

The biggest negative of social media may be privacy and the amount of information being shared. With the increase of social media comes an increase of people's privacy and person lives being put out for display. If one isn't careful with what he or she posts on their social media, he or she find themselves in very difficult and serious situations that may not be able to be taken back.

Another downside to the increase use and popularity of social media is the lack of communication and increase in anti-socialism within our society today.

Nowadays, people turn more to their technology to talk, or avoid, people instead of having face-to-face conversations or even a cell phone call. More and more people are becoming accustomed to simply typing conversations through a screen instead of seeing one another in person and spending time physically in each other's company.

Though there's good, there's bad, and there's ugly, one thing is for sure: social media is here to stay.

There was no greater time than when we were in the Super Bowl, battling it out and coming so close to winning it all after a historic halftime-blackout. This past season was not an easy one to watch unfold. The 49ers finished 2-14; yet Kaepernick started 11 games last season, completing 196 of his 331 passes for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions, and he added 69 runs for 468 yards and two touchdowns. He also did this with a team whose leading receiver (Jeremy Kerley) caught 64 passes for 667 yards and three touchdowns. However, Kaepernick has become famous for something much deeper than football: human rights. Kaepernick has recently been released from the 49ers, and has yet to hear from any other teams as far as being signed. Why? Marcio Jose Sanchez/Associated Press Some say it has to do strictly with his talent in football. Is C...
